Who can be authorized to operate a driving school?

Any natural or legal person fulfilling the following requirements shall be authorized to operate a driving school:

  1. a) Natural persons

1° Must have the minimum age required for civil majority;

2° Be a Cameroonian. However, exemptions to this provision may be granted to foreign nationals whose country grants reciprocal treatment to Cameroonians in this domain.

3° Must have good morality;

4° Headquarter the driving school in Cameroon;

5° Submit a stamped application along with the promoter’s Certificate of Non Conviction (Form N°3) of less than three (3) months indicating the town where the applicant intends to settle the driving school;

6° Show proof of at least two dual control vehicles, a well furnished premise with black boards, road signs and the necessary didactic equipment.

  1. b) Legal persons:

1° Show proof that the promoter fulfills the age, nationality and morality requirements provided for in subparagraphs 1, 2 and 3 of paragraph (a) above;

2° Headquarter the driving school in Cameroon;

3° Submit a stamped application along with the promoter’s Certificate of Non Conviction (Form N°3) of less than three (3) months;

4° Provide the company’s statutes;

5° Show proof of the availability of at least two dual control vehicles, a well furnished premise with black boards, road signs and the necessary didactic equipment.

  1. c) Equipment and material

The description, type, number and quality of documents and materials provided for in this article shall be specified by a specific text of the Minister of Transport.
