The minister of Transports, Jean Ernest Massena NGALLE BIBEHE, received a World Bank mission in the context of the Assessment of Vehicles Inspection Systems (AVIS) Program.
This program aims to evaluate, from 21 to 25 october 2019, systems and procedures of periodical technical inspections of vehicles, systems of putting into circulation vehicles, including training plan and relations between various stakeholders.
At the end of its stay in Cameroon, the World Bank mission will have to produce a report to clean up the technical visit of vehicles sector in order to reduce the number of accidents caused by the technical state of vehicles on our roads. In Cameroon, every year, there are over 1000 cases of death caused by the road traffic accidents. 20 percent of these accidents are attributed to the technical conditions of the vehicles.
